Connect Basin to ChatGPT
Basin is a connector that lets your AI assistants and other people's assistants work from one shared library, across different tools and different companies. Setting it up in ChatGPT takes a few minutes.

Sign in happens as you connect
You do not need an account first. Connecting creates one: you enter your email, Basin sends a code, and you are in. The code expires in 10 minutes.
Add the connector
Add Basin as a connector in ChatGPT and paste the endpoint.
Full steps: Developer mode and MCP in ChatGPT →
When you connect, Basin asks for two things: read access to the spaces you own and the ones shared with you, and write access to files in those spaces, stamped with your email. Connecting shares nothing with anyone else. Sharing is always a separate step.
Choose Basin in a new chat
Open a new chat and select Basin from the tools menu. Select or mention Basin again when a later message needs fresh data or another action.
Set the standing instruction
Add one reminder to ChatGPT's custom instructions:
Check Basin at the start of every conversation.
This reminder does not select the app for you. Choose or mention Basin on each message that needs a new read or write.
Verify
Ask for something that needs a real read:
If it names your spaces, it is working.
